The Boston NeuroPsychoanalysis Workshop is currently held in a private home with limited seating. If you sign up, do not cancel, and then do not come to the meeting, you are preventing someone else from attending. For one of our workshops in the 2016-2017 academic year, we were oversubscribed, had to turn people away, and then did not have a full complement in attendance. We do not want a repeat of this situation. We will send a reminder about the meeting in the week before so that cancelling is easy. Thank you, in advance, for your consideration.
On September 13th, Paolo Iacobucci gave an excellent summary of the experimental work of Jaak Panskeep which led him to his conclusions about the affective neuroscience of mammals, including humans. He also indicated the countervailing arguments maintaining that human affect derives from cortical as opposed to midbrain activations. In the next meeting on October 11th, he will discuss the questions surrounding the issues of “unconscious affect.” Participants are advised to read the papers for his talk.
